Help for group (alias: gro)
The group command manages player groups.
Usage:
group - Lists your current group and its members
group [location/loc] - Shows what area and room each member is in
group goto - Walks you to your group leader
group [create/new/start] - Creates a new group that you lead
group invite - Invites a player to your group
group [accept/join] - Accepts an invitation to a group
group decline - Declines an invitation to a group
group [leave/quit] - Leaves a group you are a member of
group [disband/stop] - Destroys a group you lead
group kick - Kicks a player out of a group you lead
group promote - Promotes a player to leader of the group
group [say/chat] - Sends a message only your group can receive
group autoattack [on/off] - Automatically join your group leader in combat
group rank - Move a member's place in the line
A group disbands on its own when only one member is left and nobody is invited.
Standing in the Line:
rank [front/middle/back] - Choose where you stand when trouble finds you
Anyone in a group can take up a position. Standing at the front draws more attacks and sets your guard, and you put yourself between an attacker and anyone standing further back. Standing at the back draws the fewest attacks, but only while you stay out of melee - the moment you are locked in with something, you are at the front whatever you chose.
One person can only hold off one attacker at a time, so a thin line will not protect a large group. Shifting position mid-fight costs you a moment unless you have trained Combat Rank.
The leader can move members around the line with group rank, but not while that member is fighting. Anyone can take a new position for themselves at any time.
Group Chat Example:
> group say Let's go north
(group) You say, "Let's go north"
Output to group members:
(group) Charles says, "Let's go north"
Channel Settings:
Use config channel group to control where group chat appears. See help channels for more information about channel configuration.
